A beauty blogger’s quest for the ultimate mascara is now on and will continue until I have found a clear winner!
After recently having a lash extension nightmare (I’ll tell you about that story another time), I’m hoping to never have to opt for lash extensions again. And in order to do so, I am searching for the world’s best mascara. One that lengthens, multiplies and volumises – without clumping and clogging… I have high hopes and only ONE mascara that fulfils ALL of my lash-extending needs will triumph. A mammoth task is ahead, and I’m just getting started!
Week 1: So far I’ve tried… L’Oreal Double Extension Beauty Tubes Mascara and Avon Super Enchant Mascara

I’ve struck lucky with this one, whilst it’s the first one I have tried… I am actually very impressed. This mascara has two steps, a conditioning white base which lengthens and coats lashes really well and then a dark-black pigment as a second layer which colours the now lengthened lashes. What’s great about this mascara is that the second layer gives the effect of volumising – it’s like adding two layers of ordinary mascara but without the clumping and breakages that normally happen when layering up. A thumbs up on this one already.
Avon Super Enchant Mascara

Well, I managed to purchase this one unofficially from Amazon on the link above, and am very glad I did so. This mascara is a great daytime mascara, its butterfly/fanned applicator curls lashes and separates them nicely, the only thing I am not sure of is the lack of volume it injects in to lashes. The length is fabulous, it’s just a shame lashes just don’t seem full enough. However, I would certainly recommend keeping this one in your beauty bag for daytime wear. A bit of helpful advice – try not to layer up this mascara, it gets a little clumpy on the second application.
Week 2: I’ve tried… Benefit’s BadGal Lash Mascara and Rimmel Scandal’Eyes Mascara
Benefit BadGal Lash Mascara
Available at Boots, Debenhams and Amazon (Cheapest price of £16.50 >>> Click here <<<)

It’s always been one of my favourite mascaras, but the price is certainly it’s main deterrent. If I can try another for half the price of this one, I will always do so, which is a huge shame because when purchasing this amazing mascara (specifically for my quest to find the world’s best mascara) I realised that this product comes close to perfection! It’s bristles separate lashes whilst giving an even and thick coverage in just a few sweeps of the brush. It’s simply a fabulous product – I recommend that you try it at least once.
Rimmel Scandal’Eyes Mascara
Available at Boots.com and in-store and also Amazon (Cheapest price of £3.49 >>> Click here <<<)

“Get the London look” with Rimmel’s Scandal’Eyes Mascara. No! Ladies, really… don’t. I’m not a fan of complaining and I like to give every brand or product a go (taking the tried and tested approach) and know that I have invested my cash in doing so. What can I say? This product is lucky to have even been given a 5! The colour was great, but the consistency was not so great. And the brush… it really looks like it’ll volumise, separate and do all the thing a great mascara should – however it did not and was in (or should I say ‘on’) my eyes, a colossal disappointment!
