It’s that time of year, the time of year where we are updating our spring to summer wardrobe with vibrant colours, we’re leaving our jackets at home every chance we get, together with the gloves! Now’s the time ladies, to update and spring clean your nail polish and nail colour collections.
Go for manicures or acrylics? Have some fun and do it yourself, with so many new colours at great prices on the high street and online, you would be silly not to experiment! With lots of colours readily available on the high street, not forgetting new Shatter and Crackle nail technologies D.I.Y. Nails couldn’t be easier.
Essie have announced the launch of their new range ‘brazilliant’. All shades are just perfect for this summers upcoming colour trends, but our choice is Too Hot Hot – a sizzling rich red. We already have this on our “to buy” list for as soon as it becomes available.
Revlon, for us have always been a great contender in the nail colour department! They have launched a new limited edition scented nail range this year, and we can’t get enough of them. Our favourite is Mad About Mango, a soft light coral, (and yes it smells like mango) you’ll be sure to see this on everybody’s nails this Spring/Summer, together with Scented nails in Beach.
Barry M Instant Effect Nails in Pink is the best pink crackle style nail colour that we have found, aside from OPI. It oozes quality and great value for money – at only £3.99 from Superdrug. This shade is on-trend for the summer and will last you right through to the Autumn if in August/September it’s mixed with darker purples, fushias and even blacks. Take a trip to you local Superdrug to see what other Barry M nail colours are for sale.
OPI, our darling OPI. A love hate relationship, we love their products, but we hate their prices! Some however, are the exception, and are well worth investing in – if you want to be ahead of the style game, you have to be willing to pay to get there, and we feel that OPI in Gargantuan Green Grape matte edition is worth paying for. It’s available for £10.50 at John and Ginger online. If that is a little to steep for you, why not go for OPI in Sparrow Me The Drama from MOD Cosmetics at only £8.99 (postage is free if you spend over £25).
We could blather on and on about every single one of our recommended nail colors for this season, but we would bore you to tears! But please do take a look for yourself and keep in mind – Ciale Paint Pots, Andrea Fullerton Nail Boutique, 17 Supreme Shine, Model’s Own and Nails Inc. Choose them in the colours above and you should remain on-trend and be stocked up until Autumn!
