Sadly, not all of us are born with perfectly symmetrical or even proportional features. However, thanks to the wonders of modern cosmetics, there are ways that you can even out your features, highlight your best assets and achieve a flawless finish.
One celebrity lady that never looks anything but immaculate is the U.S. reality star Kim Kardashian, known for her beautiful face just as much as her super-curvy figure. This makes her the ideal person to offer some of her beauty secrets on how to achieve the perfect face contouring look with cosmetics.
Contouring with cosmetics is not a new idea; celebrities have been using it for years to ensure they look their best on the red carpet or in photo shoots. However, this look is very easy to get wrong if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Follow Kim Kardashian’s top tips on makeup contouring and you can’t go wrong:
Use concealer in a shade slightly lighter than your skin tone on your T-zone. To slim and streamline your nose without needing a nose job, apply your concealer in a thin line directly down the centre of your nose and slightly up onto your forehead. You should also apply it under each of your eyes, just above your cheekbones, reaching up to the ends of your eyebrows.
Apply a dark (slightly darker than your skin tone) stripe of foundation in the hollow of each of your cheeks, under your cheekbone. Try not to make this stripe too thick or it will be difficult to blend properly.
Carefully blend the lighter and darker shades together until your makeup looks natural. The last thing you want is unblended makeup or obvious light and dark patches.
Other cosmetic contouring tricks to try include:
• Using gentle shading and an angled contour brush on either side of your forehead, just above the temples, to make your forehead look smaller
• Brushing dark tones just underneath your jaw line to create a more defined jaw
• Applying a dark tone to outline the bridge of your nose and make your nose look smaller, without the need for nose surgery.
After trying all of these tricks – don’t forget to blend properly before leaving the house!
